Rarely will they try to understand others around them. These people will compromise, and often feel threatened by changes. They will also delay achievements rather than putting forth the efforts to achieve.

Leaders have principals. Principals are controlled authorities of positions. Leaders will delegate while adhering to their leadership roles. For instance, a leader delegates others to act as a representation or agent of what he intends to do while controlling the task and efforts and instructing along the way to completion.
This person will realize that if delegates fail, he will place prime importance and ultimately take full liability of the failures while abiding by rules, laws, and the like.
Leaders setup reasonable limits, goals, and boundaries and will work hard to achieve those goals while adhering to their boundaries and limits. At times, a leader will go beyond his limits and boundaries, especially as he weighs out the consequences and results.
As you can see, leaders differ from others. Leaders prepare to face difference of opinions, while respecting the thoughts and rights of others. The leaders will not take offense to verbal attacks; rather they will search deeper to find the problems core. This person will not criticize, judge, mock, belittle, attack back, etc, rather he will act maturely to resolve the issues. He will consider the feelings and thoughts of the other person as he does so.
People often recognize at one point in their life that they have qualities of a leader. The downside is many of these people will spot the traits, disregard them and say, "I am a follower," instead of unleashing their instincts to achieve their leadership qualities.
