Owning Leadership in How to Achieve Qualities Who let the leaders out? Leaders have been around us for many years now, and while many people believe leaders are publicly seen on television, teaching in schools and the like, the truth is we are all leaders.
What are leaders? Leaders are delegating machines, sharers of credit, focusers of problems, follow uppers, willing souls, own leadership, responsible, dependable, trustworthy, handles large tasks, models values, visions, and acknowledges others all the time they make decisions. This is a small list of qualities but if you stretch the qualities, you will see a list unimaginable.
Leaders are interesting people, since like the minority these people are different, which makes it difficult for people to relate. This does not bother the typical leader, since all prejudices are wiped clear from his or her mind. The leader moves all obstacles out of his way to move ahead in life.
Leaders will consider many problems in life, while searching for solutions for handling the problems and will use full force to achieve their mission. The person often focuses on problems rather than people, thus judging others is not in his makeup.
Some of the finest qualities of leaders are that these people are considerate, honest, caring, loving, confident, and rarely will you find a selfish bone in their body. In fact, a leader will give credit to others before taking credit self.
Life is a bundle of struggles. This never gets a leader down since he will take on the struggles without floundering. The leader will find ways to reduce those struggles while removing stressors and stress out of his way.
Let's look at examples of some fine leaders in the world. You probably are not familiar with these leaders, yet they do exist. A problem occurs in a household. The children have gone astray while the mother is at her wits end. The father patiently reviews the problems, while searching to increase involvements for each member of the family. The father sits back and thinks hard, considering where he went wrong, while opening discussion to resolve the issues as he uses clarification to reach results. The father continues by identifying solutions and alternatives that lead to resolve. He thinks hard while serving as a releaser to relieve overwhelmed emotions, stress, and tension. He continues to build on cohesive response, while focusing on helping each member of the family to grow, as he acknowledges the conflicts throughout the process. Notice the father notices the conflicts rather than directing the conflict by dwelling on the members of the family. Likely, this man will have results, because has shown quality leadership.
Now, we can see bad examples and what may become of this type of problem solving strategy. A family is going through the same problems as the first family. The father acts out aggressively, which is a controlling and dominating quality that breaks up homes. He enforces unacceptable self-concepts rather than promoting positive influences. The man continues to deal poorly with the problem by destroying the morale of the family. He goes out drinks, cheats, and lies believing no one will see through his behaviors. What are the consequences? Can you see what the consequences will result in? A good leader will see consequences of his or her behaviors and act maturely to resolve problems.
As you can see, a good leader has qualities that make things work, while many followers resort to increasing problems. Weigh out this comparison and you will see many people have not unleashed their inner instincts to achieve their leadership qualities. Many people rarely take ownership of their leader.
